Perfect School Design Project
For our first project, our ninth graders were tasked with answering a question so many educators across the nation (and the globe) are currently struggling with: How can we better design an educational system to fit the needs of all students. Over the course of 7 weeks and (completely virtually), students met with guest speakers, researched, brainstormed and together they created their vision of the perfect school. Below are the websites for the 10 schools they created. Click on the school name to visit that particular school's website.
Moo Moo HighMission: The creators of Moo Moo High believe that our school should be full of inclusivity, kindness, and positivity. We are open to all races, genders, sexualties, and ethnicities. We expect that our students work hard, experience new things and adventures. We want to inspire young activists to stand up for what they believe in because we think it’s important for everyone to have a voice in our school and in life. . . .It is also our goal to make sure everyone is well cared for. Advanced classes will be open for every student because it's important for all students to show their smarts and not feel left out by attending separate classes. This choice will give students more opportunities and not make anyone feel less than anyone else. Everyone can learn anything with the right mindset. With hard work we can achieve the impossible together. |
Red Rosefire AcademyMission: At Red Rosefire Academy, it is our mission to engage our students in formulating and expressing their opinions. We challenge our students to persevere through challenges in order to achieve greatness. We support our students by allowing them to learn in multiple ways, as we recognize that everyone learns differently. As leaders in our community, we offer a hands-on education so that students can learn problem solving skills by working collaboratively and engaging in authentic projects. |
The Dream CampusAt The Dream Campus, we want students to learn and feel safe. We believe in providing them lots of opportunities to prepare them for college while also having fun. There are many opportunities for our students to learn about different cultures. There is also a game floor for students so they can relax. We want students to feel free to express their opinions and not feel left out. We also want students to learn new skills for every subject that they have. We also want the students to look at school in a different aspect we don't want the students to feel like school isn't fun.
